Anti-bullying week 2013

From the 18th – 22nd November our focus is on Anti-bullying week.

The theme for this year’s event highlighting this important issue is –

“The future is ours; safe, fun, and connected”

There are various events happening around the UK such as –

  • Actionwork is running a competition, to show people how they can remain safe, connected online.Percy the Pigeon
  • Actionwork has an anti-bullying roadshow running through November
  • Kidscape founder Michele Eliot has written an award winning book  – Bullies, Cyberbullies and Frenemies aimed at pre teens who are dealing with bullying or wondering if they are bullies.
  • Beat Bullying has various helpful resources for young people affected by bullying

 Percy’s CampaignMatty-boy & The Secret Pigeon Racket

  • And last but not least we have Percy’s campaign 🙂 Here at Are you being bullied, we have for you – My children’s novel  – Matty-boy  & The Secret Pigeon Racket  available through bookshops and and The book is for the 8-12 year old age range, to be used as a tool to help build discussion surrounding bullying, either to be used at home or at school. If you love knitting, you could Knit a mini Percy and either donate to someone you know would benefit from Percy’s message, or to your local schools and youth groups.
