Are you affected by bullying?

Are you being bullied?

Is someone close to you being bullied?

As someone who has experienced bullying, I am passionate about finding ways to talk about this difficult subject; to help those affected, find the help they need.

I found it very hard to talk about being bullied when I was at school, because of this I suffered in silence for many years.

Are you a parent / carer who is concerned that your child is being bullied, but not sure how to talk to them about it?

It is common to feel all alone when you are being bullied, that no one understands, and that you don’t know where to turn for help.

Matt, the main character Matty-boy and the Secret Pigeon Racket, gains the unwelcome attention of the school bully, but doesn’t know who he can trust to tell about it.

If you read the story with your child, you will be able to see how Matt copes with the bullying and what he decides to do.

Even if your child isn’t being bullied, it has been shown that talking about this sensitive subject with them, enables children and teenagers to know what to do if they are or someone they know, is being bullied.

As a child, the bullies were the non-Jewish children and sometimes their parents.

The children didn’t physically touch me but they did push and shove the boys and made fun of all of us.

I’m glad that my mother respected the religions of others – and that’s both my brother and I have been as adults.

I think it’s marvelous that this book is available — and will ask my daughter if she’s interested in my gifting her – she’s a teacher and knows about bullying, too.

Hi Marny, lovely to meet you.

Thank you for your comment, and for sharing your story.
Thank you also for sharing my book details with your daughter. My hope is that it can be a useful tool for discussion 🙂

I have zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying. It needs to stop!
